Assistance for veterans

The following information is intended to assist in the provision of medical services to veteran officers and injured veteran officers, who received such status for serving abroad or being injured while serving abroad, under the provisions of Art. 5 of the Veterans’ Service Abroad Act of 19 August 2011 (Dz. U. Nr. 205, poz. 1203).

The following recurring terms and their definitions should be understood when reading the following text:

officer(s) - should be understood as an officer dismissed from service in the Police, Border Guard, Government Protection Bureau and firefighting forces, as well as firefighters dismissed from the State Fire Service;

immediate family member(s) - should be understood as a spouse, ascendants, descendants, siblings, adoptees and those people in cohabitation with the veteran or injured veteran.

At the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, all powers relating to healthcare services for injured veteran officers and veteran officers are vested in the Health Policy Section of the Department of Health at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration.
